Haven't posted in a while, but there has been some solid fishing when I have been able to venture out. Last week me and a buddy headed east for some PA steel, it was colder than cold, chap sticking our lines and walking to find active fish was the theme of the day. The only problem with that was when its 10 degrees outside very few fish are active at all. On the plus side even fewer fisherman are active. We managed 4 fish total on this day, conditions were tough to say the least but sometimes you just hafta fish you know!!

A few days later all the OH tribs were pretty much back to normal fishing flows, so me and a buddy headed west, it was my friends first time to this particular river. I rarely fish this river considering the traffic and lack of knowledge of the river after Hurricane Sandy. We took a shot and fished a couple "winter holding" areas and were lucky enough to land a few and lose a few!

To conclude my last couple weeks of steelheading I headed out yesterday with a few of my buddies that fish with the pin, so I wasn't expecting to get all the action this outing. With this warm up we figured we could find a few actively feeding fish. Well when we arrived at the river I was shocked to see so much slush considering the last couple nights hadn't been nearly as cold, well we decided to beat feet to some areas of the river that narrow with hopes of the slush being burned off. Well our plan worked and within the 1st few minutes we had our first fish of the day!

My friend Tim seems to have a knack for catching BIG fish! I was lucky enough to steal some of his action and land the last fish of the day. It was not nearly the size of Tim's fish, but did rip off 30 feet of line 3 times, always thankful for the opportunity to catch these awesome fish!!
